Crop insurance scheme to provide big respite to farmers in India

Central Govt has announced a new Crop Insurance Scheme which may provide big respite to the farming community in India.
Premium will be 1.5% to 5%. Easy settlement through mobile uploading of crop-loss pictures, quick disbursement within 30 days.
No restriction on premium to enable full claim settlement. Those who haven’t applied for crop loans would be eligible.
