Transmission lines 4 times compensation under consideration

The energy dept is considering proposal to give 4 times compensation to farmers with retrospective effect for allowing installation of transmission towers on their farm land as the Land Acquisition act 2013 does not speak about corridor of transmission lines passing through farm lands, says Energy Minister of Maharashtra, Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
Transmission lines are governed by Telegraph act and it is impossible to stop installation of tower on any land. Powergrid, Adani, NTPC and Mahatransco have authority to lay transmission lines in the state.
