80% of Coca Cola’s pulp can be procured locally

An Orange processing plant at Morshi (a JV of Coca Cola & Jain Irrigation) would create a market for local oranges.

Coca Cola has been importing pulp for this, 80% of which could be procured from here says CM Devendra Fadnavis.

The Government with its brand name NOGA is setting up a Orange Processing plant in Morshi in JV with Coca Cola and Jain Irrigation. This project, called Orange Unnati, will have buyback scheme where orange cultivators can enter into contract with private companies.

A superior Brazilian variety of Oranges will be cultivated through budding method considering its suitability with weather pattern. This crop is more suitable for juicing for which a plant will be setup at MIDC Butibori.

Two dehydration plants will be setup at Warud and Morshi in Amravati Dist for processing oranges into powder form that would be exported in 10 cities of Maharashtra and 5 major cities in the country with a target to produce 1500 metric tonnes of powder. Direct sale of 5000 metric tonnes of Oranges will be done through MahaOrange and CAIM venture.
