Toursim sector- relaxed rules for home stay of tourists

There is a shortage of 1.9 lakh hotel rooms in India. The Union Government is revising its guidelines (and urging states also) to allow tourists to stay at homes.
Presently, homestay has to be licenced by the state government and required to pay service tax & other levies at commercial rates.
