MMRDA to expedite development in Maharashtra

Maharashtra Government has constituted Maharashtra Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to expedite development in state (barring Mumbai), which will be headed by the Chief Minister and will co-ordinate & supervise rapid & proper development of areas and execute projects, schemes & plans for such development.
It will have power to acquire, hold and dispose-off properties. Developers will have to take permission of this authority for undertaking development, which it shall consider within 60 days.
