FSI norm relaxed for hospitality sector

Now 3,4, and 5 star hotels can use additional 100% FSI provided they are situated on atleast 12m wide road as per new notification U/s 37 (1AA) of Maharashtra Regional & Town planning act 1966. The govt has decided to modify the DCR.
Base FSI of 1.25 is allowed for Star category hotels. Projects classified as Ultra mega projects as per tourism policy can get additional 20% FSI for tourism support acitivities by paying premium.

Maharashtra government is doing away with approvals currently required by hoteliers and eatery establishments from police department like food registration certificate, public performance licence, swimming pool licence, permit room licence.
This is in continuation to the series of steps towards ease of doing business being implemented by the state government. Now they simply need permission from the municipal corporation.
