For a foreign collaborator the following are the considerations:
First consideration is about the integrity of the promoter
Whether the promoter is grounded or not
His business practices
Whether his company is tax compliant
What is his customers view
Whether the company is service oriented
Then they buy your growth plan & your business model he says.
Japanese investors are most conservative, but they work for the long term, over 100 years he says.
He feels, like in his case, sometimes it is better to go for mutually suitable commercial and arbitration terms instead of getting too technical with legal documentation.
